語源
「mythicize」は英語で「mythic」と語尾の造語接尾辞「-ize」から成る。『mythic』は最終的にギリシャ語の'mythos'（物語、ことば）に由来する。
『mythic』はギリシャ語'mythos'がラテン語・古フランス語（'mythe'/'mythus'）を経て中英語の'myth'/'mythic'になり、動詞化接尾辞'-ize'（ギリシャ語 -izein 経由のラテン語/フランス語）と結びついて現代英語の 'mythicize' が生まれた。
