語源
「weathercock」は中英語の'wedercok'に由来し、'weder'は「天気・風」を、'cok'は「雄鶏（コック）」を意味した。
古英語の'weder'（天気）や'cocc'（雄鶏）から中英語の'wedercok'へ変化し、最終的に現代英語の'weathercock'になった。
