語源
「antidromous」はギリシャ語の「antidromos」から来ており、「anti-」は「反対／～に対して」を意味し、「dromos」は「走ること／道」を意味します。
「antidromos」は学術的なニューラテン語を経て19世紀頃に英語の 'antidromous' として採用されました。
当初は「（ある）経路に逆らって走る・動く」という意味でしたが、次第に「逆方向に伝導・回遊する」という専門的な意味に特化しました。
