語源
「anthropomorphic」はギリシア語の『anthrōpomorphos』に由来し、'anthrōpos'は「人間」を、'morphē'は「形」を意味した。
『anthrōpomorphos』は後期ラテン語の『anthropomorphicus』を経て、ラテン語やその他のヨーロッパ語形を通じて英語に入り、最終的に現代英語の『anthropomorphic』になった。
当初は「人間の形をしている」という意味だったが、次第に「非人間の存在に人間の特性を付与する」という意味で使われるようになった。
