語源
「prepositioning」は英語に由来し、語『preposition』と接尾辞『-ing』の結合によって名詞・現在分詞が作られたものである。
『preposition』はラテン語の『praeponere』（prae-「前に」＋ponere「置く」）に由来し、古フランス語・中英語の『prepositioun／preposition』を経て現代英語の『preposition』となり、そこに生産的な接尾辞『-ing』が付いて『prepositioning』が生まれた。
