語源
「anthropometric」は名詞「anthropometry」＋形容詞接尾辞「-ic」から生じた。『anthropometry』はギリシャ語の『anthropos』（人）と『metron』（計ること）に由来する。
『anthropometry』は19世紀にフランス語の 'anthropométrie' や新ラテン語の造語を経て英語に入り、そこから『anthropometric』が形成され、『人体測定に関する』という意味で使われるようになった。
