語源
'ungrounded'は古英語の'grund'（「底、基盤」）に否定接頭辞'un-'（「〜でない」）が付いたことに由来する。
中英語で接頭辞'un-'と'ground'（古英語'grund'由来）を組み合わせる語形から発展し、現代英語の形'ungrounded'になった。
元々は「地面にない」「物理的に接地されていない」といった字義的な意味だったが、後に「根拠がない」「基盤がない」という抽象的な意味にも広がった。
