語源
『heavy-fingered』は英語に由来し，'heavy'＋'finger'に形容詞化の接尾辞'-ed'を付けた複合語で，「指が重い（文字どおり／比喩的）」という意味から派生。
『heavy』は古英語の'hefig'（重い）に由来し，『finger』は古英語の'finger'に由来する。現代英語で接尾辞'-ed'を付けて性質を表す形容詞化が進み，'heavy-fingered'という表現が生まれた。
