語源
「unsentimentally」は形容詞「unsentimental」から派生し、接頭辞「un-」（否定）と「sentimental」から成る。'sentimental'はフランス語の 'sentimental'、さらに遡ればラテン語 'sentimentum'（語根 'sentire'＝「感じる」）に由来する。
ラテン語 'sentire' が晩期ラテン語／フランス語の 'sentiment'／'sentimental' に発展し、中英語で 'sentiment' が取り入れられた。その後英語で 'sentimental' が形容詞化され、否定の接頭辞 'un-' を付けて 'unsentimental'、副詞化の接尾辞 '-ly' で 'unsentimentally' が作られた。
