語源
「unrooted」は古英語の要素に由来します：接頭辞「un-」（古英語 'un-'＝「〜でない」）と「root」（古英語 'rōt'＝「根」）から成ります。
「root」は古英語で'rōt'として存在し（他のゲルマン語でも類似語あり）、動詞としての'use to root'は中英語期に発達しました。接頭辞「un-」を付けて『unroot』（根を取り除く）が中英語〜近代英語に現れ、そこから過去分詞・形容詞の『unrooted』が生じました。
