語源
「non-nucleated」は英語の接頭辞「non-」＋形容詞「nucleated」から成り、「non-」は「〜でない」を意味し、「nucleate」はラテン語の「nucleus」（「核」「芯」）に由来します。
「nucleate」はラテン語の「nucleus」→ 後期ラテン語の「nucleatus」→ 中英語・近代英語の「nucleate」と変化し、英語で否定の接頭辞「non-」が付加されて「non-nucleated」が作られました。
当初は「核」「芯」を指す語義でしたが、やがて「核を持つ」「核を形成する」の意味になり、「non-nucleated」は「核を持たない」「核形成が起きていない」を意味するようになりました。
