語源
「immunoreactivity」は結合形「immuno-」（ラテン語 'immunis' に由来し元は「免除された」を意味したが、後に「免疫に関する」を指す）と「reactivity」（動詞 'react' と名詞化接尾辞 '-ity' の結合）から成る。
「immuno-」は近代・新ラテン語の科学用語として「免疫に関する」を表すようになった。「reactivity」は動詞『react』（ラテン語の接頭辞're-'「再び」＋ 'agere'「行う／駆り立てる」）と接尾辞 '-ity' から派生し、20世紀に科学分野で結合して「immunoreactivity」が作られた。
