語源
「entwine」は中英語に起源があり、接頭辞'en-'（古フランス語'en-'「中へ・内へ」から）と'twine'（古英語'twīnan' / 'twine'「ねじる・巻き合わせる」）から成る。
中英語で「entwinen」「entwynen」などの形で現れ、後に現代英語の「entwine」になった。名詞形は動詞に名詞化接尾辞「-ment」を付けてできた「entwinement」である。
