語源
「disjunct」はラテン語に由来し、特に過去分詞の「disjunctus」（動詞disjungereの形）から来ている。ここで 'dis-' は「離れて」を、'jungere／iungere' は「結ぶ／つなぐ」を意味した。
ラテン語の「disjunctus」は中世ラテン語・中英語を経て（'disjunct' / 'disjunct' として）英語に入った。意味の中心は「分離する／分離した」で安定した。
