語源
「descriptiveness」はラテン語の『describere』に由来し、『de-』は「下へ・完全に」、『scribere』は「書く」を意味した。
『descriptiveness』はラテン語『describere』から古フランス語の『descrire』、中英語の『describe』『descriptive』を経て、形容詞『descriptive』に接尾辞『-ness』を付けて現代英語の名詞になった。
