語源
「deductor」はラテン語、特に「dēductus」（「dēdūcere」に由来）に起源があり、英語の接尾辞「-or」（「行為を行う者」の意）が付いた語である。
「dēductus」は後に（仏語・後期ラテン語の影響を経て）英語の動詞「deduct」へと発展し、そこから接尾辞「-or」を付けて名詞「deductor」が作られた。
当初は「下へ導く／連れ去る」の意味で、それが「差し引く・取り去る」の意味へと展開し、現代では「差し引く側（人・組織）」の意味になった。
