語源
「bacchian」はラテン語の固有名詞「Bacchus（バッカス）」に由来し、さらに語源はギリシャ語の『Bakkhos（バッコス）』で、酒と陶酔の神の名である。
ギリシャ語の『Bakkhos』がラテン語の『Bacchus』になり、後期ラテン語では『Bacchianus』や『Bacchicus』といった「バッカスに属する」を表す形容詞が作られ、そこから英語の『bacchian』などの語形が生まれた。
