語源
「arsenization」は現代英語で、元素名「arsenic（ヒ素）」に動詞化接尾辞「-ize」と名詞化接尾辞「-ation」を付けて作られ、｢ヒ素で処理する／ヒ素を含ませる処理｣を意味する語になった。
「arsenic」はギリシャ語の 'arsenikon'（元はヒ素化合物を指す）に由来し、ラテン語 'arsenicum'、古仏語・中古ラテン語を経て中英語に入りました。そこから 'arsenize'（動詞）が作られ、さらに '-ation' を付けて 'arsenization'（名詞）が生じた。
