語源
「antimorality」は現代英語に由来し、ギリシャ語由来の接頭辞「anti-」（『反対』を意味するギリシャ語『antí』）と、古フランス語「moralité」、ラテン語「moralis」から来た名詞「morality」を結び付けて作られた語で、語根『moralis』は「しつけ・習慣に関する」を意味した。
