語源
「analogue」はフランス語の「analogue」に由来し、さらにラテン語「analogus」、ギリシャ語「analogos」（「ana-」は「〜に従って」、「logos」は「比率・割合」）に遡る。
「analogue」はギリシャ語「analogos」からラテン語「analogus」、フランス語「analogue」を経て、現代英語の「analogue」になった。
もともとは「比例した」「比率を持つ」という意味だったが、時代とともに「類似物」や「アナログ（非デジタル）」という現代的な意味に発展した。
