語源
「Aramaize」は現代英語に由来し、名詞「Aramaic」と動詞化接尾辞「-ize」（ギリシャ語 '-izein' を経由したラテン語・フランス語由来）から構成される。'-ize' は「〜にする／〜化する」という意味を持つ。
「Aramaize」は「Aramaic」（元はアラム人に由来）と生産的な接尾辞「-ize」を組み合わせた現代英語の造語である。接尾辞は古フランス語・ラテン語を経て英語に入り、『〜にする』という動詞を作るために用いられてきた。
