1960年代からの
語源
「1960s-era」は現代英語に由来し、数字で表した年代「1960s」と名詞「era（時代）」を組み合わせた語で、「1960s」は「1960年から1969年までの10年間」を、「era」は「ある期間・時代」を意味した。
「1960s-era」は20世紀に発展し、「1960s」のような年代表記を修飾語として用いる慣習から生まれ、やがて「1960s-era fashion」のようにハイフンで結ぶ形が一般化した。
