語源
「transcribe」はラテン語の語 'transcribere' に由来し、'trans-' は「向こうへ／横切って」を、'scribere' は「書く」を意味した。
'transcribere' は中世フランス語の 'transcrire' を経て、中英語の 'transcriven' などの形になり、最終的に現代英語の 'transcribe' となった。
