語源
「skewness」は英語に由来し、現代英語では形容詞/動詞「skew」に名詞化接尾辞「-ness」を付けて作られた語である。
「skew」は中英語（例: 'skewen'）で発展し、語源は『そらす・曲げる』を意味する古ノルド語・北欧語の語根に遡る可能性がある。後に「skew」＋「-ness」で「skewness」が形成された。
