語源
「oligemia」はギリシャ語の要素「olígos（小さい・少ない）」と「haîma（血）」に由来する。
「olígos」＋「haîma」は後期ラテン語／新ラテン語の医療用語形『oligaemia／olig(a)emia』として伝わり、最終的に英語の医療用語『oligemia』となった。
元々は「少量の血」を意味したが、時とともに「血液量の減少」や「局所的な血流低下」という医学的な意味に発展した。
