語源
「non-inverting」は近代英語に由来し、接頭辞「non-」（ラテン語の「non」から、意味は「～でない」）と動詞「invert」（ラテン語の「invertĕre」から）を組み合わせた語です。
「invert」はラテン語の'invertĕre'（'in-'は「～の中へ／反対に」、'vertere'は「回す」）から英語に入り、中英語を経て現代英語になりました。形容詞的複合語「non-inverting」は近代英語で接頭辞'non-'と現在分詞形から作られました。
