語源
「miscegenation」はラテン語の語根から派生し、とくに「miscēre（混ぜる）」と「genus（出生・種族）」に由来する。
「miscegenation」は19世紀（米国）に造られた語で、動詞'miscegenate'と接尾辞'-ation'から形成され、1863年の小冊子『Miscegenation』などの印刷物で確認される。
