語源
「millenarianism」はラテン語系（中世ラテン語）の単語「millenarianismus」由来で、'mille'は「千」、'annus'は「年」を意味した。
「millenarianism」は中世ラテン語の『millenarianismus』（'millenarian'＋接尾辞'-ism'）から16〜17世紀に英語に入り、1000年を指す語根と思想を示す接尾辞の結合として成立した。
