語源
「hCG」は「human chorionic gonadotropin（ヒト絨毛性性腺刺激ホルモン）」の略。'chorion'はギリシャ語で『膜』を意味し、'gonado-'は『生殖腺』、'-tropin'は『刺激する（向ける）』を意味する語根に由来する。
