語源
『figuration』はフランス語の『figuration』に由来し、その語は中世ラテン語の『figuratio』、さらにラテン語の『figura』（「形、姿」）にさかのぼる。
『figuration』はフランス語の『figuration』から変化し、中世ラテン語『figuratio』（ラテン語『figura』由来）を経て、中英語〜近代英語に入った。
