語源
「comparator」はラテン語の「comparare」から来ており、「com-」は「一緒に」、「parare」は「準備する・整える」を意味した。
「comparator」はラテン語の動詞「comparare」から、古仏語の「comparer」や中英語の「comparen」を経て、ラテン語の能動者接尾辞「-ator」による名詞形として英語に入った。
