語源
「autocall」はギリシャ語接頭辞「auto-」と英語動詞「call」の合成語に由来する。『auto-』はギリシャ語の『autos』で「自己」を意味し、『call』は古ノルド語の『kalla』（呼ぶ）に遡る。
『auto-』は18–19世紀にギリシャ語要素がラテン語・フランス語を経て英語に入ったもので、『call』は古ノルド語『kalla』から古英語／中英語（'callen'）を経て現代英語の『call』になった。『autocall』という複合語は20世紀の金融専門用語として現れた。
