語源
'ascendent'はラテン語に由来し、特に単語『ascendere』に由来します。接頭辞'ad-'（'as-'として現れる）は「〜へ」を意味し、'scandere'は「登る」を意味しました。
'ascendente'（ラテン語動詞）から中世英語の'ascenden/ascend'の形を経て、フランス語やラテン語の影響を受けた形で'adj.'の'ascendant'や英語の変種'ascendent'になりました。
