語源
「anti-physician」は近代英語の造語で、ギリシャ語の接頭辞『anti-』「反対」と名詞『physician』（下記参照）を組み合わせたものです。
『physician』は古フランス語『fisicien』、ラテン語『physicus』、ギリシャ語『physikos』から英語に入り、元は『自然（哲学）に関する人』を意味していましたが、次第に『医師』を指す語に狭まっていきました。接頭辞『anti-』はギリシャ語由来で中英語以降に英語で生産的に使われ、現代では『anti-physician』のような複合語を作ります。
