語源
「myth-making」は現代英語の複合語で「myth」＋「making」から成る。『myth』はギリシャ語の『mythos（ことば・物語）』に由来し、ラテン語の『mythus』を経て中英語の『mythe』になった。『making』は古英語の『macian（作る・構築する）』を経て中英語の『maken』から派生した。
『myth』はギリシャ語『mythos』→ラテン語『mythus』→中英語『mythe』へと変化し、『make』は古英語『macian』→中英語『maken』→現代英語『make』へと進化した。複合語『myth-making』は現代英語で神話を作る行為を指す表現として発達した。
