語源
「inclusion」はラテン語の「inclusio」から来ており、接頭辞「in-」は「中へ」を意味し、語幹の「cludere」（includere）は「閉じる・閉める」を意味します。
「inclusion」は中世ラテン語の「inclusio」（後期ラテン語でも確認される）から変化し、中英語で「inclusioun / inclusion」となり、最終的に現代英語の「inclusion」になりました。
当初は「中に閉じ込める行為・収容すること」を意味しましたが、時間とともに「含める行為」や「含まれているもの」という現在の意味に移っていきました。
