語源
「decenter」はラテン語の接頭辞 'de-'（「～から離れる」）と、ラテン語 'centrum'（ギリシャ語 'kentron' に由来、意味は「尖点／中心」）から来る 'center' の結合に由来する。
「decenter」は古フランス語・中英語の 'decentre' などの形を経て発展し、現在の英語 'decenter'（変種として 'decentre' の綴りも存在）になった。
