語源
「bestialize」はラテン語の語 'bestia' に由来し、'bestia' は「獣」を意味した。英語では形容詞 'bestial' に動詞化接尾辞 '-ize' をつけて作られた。
'bestia'（ラテン語）→ 'bestialis'（後期ラテン語：「獣に関する」）→ 古フランス語／中英語を経て英語の 'bestial' になり、さらに '-ize' を付けて 'bestialize'（および 'bestialization','bestializing'）が生まれた。
