語源
「autonitridation」は、ギリシャ語の接頭辞「auto-」（自己）と「nitridation」（窒化に関連する語）を組み合わせた現代的な造語に由来します。
「nitridation（窒化）」は19～20世紀に科学用語として成立し、'nitride（窒化物）'から派生しました。'autonitridation'は材料科学の分野で最近になって用いられるようになった複合語です。
