語源
『archigenesis』はギリシャ語の要素『archi-』（ギリシャ語 ἀρχι-）「主要・始まり」および『genesis』（ギリシャ語 γένεσις）「起源・誕生」から起こった。
『archigenesis』は近代英語で、古典・新ラテン語的な要素を結合して造られた語であり、19世紀以降に専門的・哲学的文献で見られる。
当初は「最初の起源・主要な成立」を意味したが、時間とともに意味自体は大きく変わらず、日常語ではなく稀で専門的な用法に限られるようになった。
