堆積物で上げる
「aggrade」はラテン語の「ad-」(向かって)と「gradus」(段階、等級)に由来します。
「adgradus」はフランス語の「agrader」に変わり、最終的に現代英語の「aggrade」になりました。
最初は「段階を上げる、持ち上げる」という意味でしたが、時間とともに「堆積物の堆積によってレベルを上げる」という現在の意味に進化しました。
