語源
「Contra-Remonstrant」はラテン語とオランダ語/フランス語の要素に由来する。ラテン語の「contra」は「反対」を意味し、「remonstrant」はフランス語/オランダ語を経てラテン語 'remonstrare'（『再び示す』『抗議する』）に由来する。
「Remonstrant」は17せいきはじめにオランダ語から英語に入ってきて、1610年の『ロマンスタンス（請願）』の支持者を指す語になった。'Contra-Remonstrant'は『ロマンスト派に対する者』を示すために作られ、ドルト会議（1618–1619）の文脈などで用いられた。
