語源
「Anthesterion」は古代ギリシャ語の『Ἀνθεστήριον』（または『Ἀνθεστηρίων』）に由来し、『ἄνθος』（花）と場所・祭りを表す接尾辞『‑τήριον』から成る。
『Anthesterion』は古典研究やラテン語・ギリシャ語の記述を通じて近代英語に取り入れられ、古代ギリシャの宗教や暦に関する文献で「Anthesterion」として用いられるようになった。
