(electrify)
charge or excite
Etymology
'electrify' originates from the Greek word 'ēlektron', meaning 'amber', which was used to describe the static electricity produced by rubbing amber.
'ēlektron' transformed into the Latin word 'electricus', and eventually became the modern English word 'electric' and its derivatives like 'electrify'.
Initially, it meant 'to charge with electricity', but over time it evolved to also mean 'to excite or thrill'.
