Etymology
'Euro-style' originates from a combination of 'Euro' and 'style'. 'Euro' ultimately comes from the name 'Europe' (from Greek 'Europa' via Latin and Old French) and refers to the European continent/region (later also the currency 'Euro'), where 'style' originates from Old French 'estile' and Latin 'stilus', meaning 'manner' or 'fashion'.
'Euro-style' is a late 20th-century compound formed when 'Euro' (a modern formation referring to Europe or the Euro currency) began to be used as a prefix in English; combined with 'style' it produced the modern compound 'Euro-style' to describe fashions, designs, or standards associated with Europe.
Initially formed to indicate something relating to Europe or the Euro era, it has come to be used chiefly for design and stylistic features that follow European conventions ('European manner/design').
